Resilience
Through resilience, I learn to never give up despite setbacks and challenges. So, I always try to be resilient, such that when I am faced with a setback, I will persevere to the end. "Failure is success in progress", is a quote by Albert Einstein which I like and often use it to constantly remind myself not to give up easily as I understand that failure is part of the process to improve myself.
Excellence
I value excellence too. This is because it spur me to do my best and be consistent in everything I do, be it in the exams or playing sports. Therefore, I strongly believe that having a mindset of always seeking improvement, setting high standards, and pushing oneself to reach new levels of proficiency is vital as it can stretch my potential and allow me to foster new skills while leading a more meaningful and purposeful life.
Respect
I value respect as it is one of the most basic values everyone should have. Respect involves showing consideration for others, regardless of their identity or social-status. Hence, I always strive to be mindful of my words and actions by being polite to others, as I know that it can result others to feel disrespected if I am not careful of what I say or do. A quote I live by is "Treat others with respect and others will respect you".
My Personality
Organised Person
I am an organised person as I hate to have messy study tables that are untidy and filled with stacks of papers. Hence, I always try to keep things on my study table neat and organised. Other than my study table, I also try to be organised when studying, such as recording assignments that are soon due in my phone's notepad. This allows me to plan out my schedule to ensure assignments are done which helps me to avoid last-minute rushing them.
Introverted
Being an introverted person, I tend to avoid social gathering, especially with those that I am not familiar with or close to. This is because I prefer spending time by myself or with very close friends. However, coming to SP, I know that I need to be extroverted to make more connections with others, hence I am trying to socialise more often and meet more people of different personality.
Traits
I did a personality test (16 Personality Test) during my ECG lesson, and the results showed that my personality type is a "Defender", and explained that I have a dilligent nature, and possess a natural desire for structure and consistency. It also explained that I consistently prioritize my loved ones, striving to never disappoint them, which was true as I always try to not do badly in my studies and make them proud.
What I like to do
Play Games
Everyone has definitely played games before, especially people of my age and generation. My interest started when I became exposed to a wide variety of games genres in Secondary 1, from strategy MOBA games like Mobile Legend:Bang Bang to first person shooter like Call of Duty: Mobile. As such, I always spare time on weekend to play games alone or with friends.
Going Out
Other than playing games, I love playing sports as it can keep me fit. During my free time, my friends and I will arrange a time and book a court in the stadium to meet and play badminton together. Furthermore, when more of my friends are free, we also go play pool together in Jurong Safra. Otherwise, I will go for a morning run around my neighbourhood when I am alone. Lastly, when I do not feel like going out or play games, I love to lie on my couch and watch videos on YouTube or any other social media apps.
Coding
My interest in coding has started since secondary 1 as I was curious how games and smart devices work. Hence, I recently started to code addons (addons allow the game to be modified and customised) for Minecraft (a game which supports addons) by learning some modelling and C++ coding language through online tutorials. I am still a beginner in all these right now, but I have plans to create my own game with some of my friends with similar interest in the future.
